It is possible to assign a name and a reference number to each 'arch' object
during its creation using LSS Arch tool dialog or any time later using 'Properties' dialog.
Then it is possible to attach text labels, which will contain assigned names and reference
numbers to any (reasonable) number of selected 'arch' objects automatically in a batch manner.
It is also possible to display any other information stored in 'arch' object's attributes within attached labels as well.
It is necessary to create new/edit existing label template in order to define what exactly to be shown in attached labels.
- select 'arch' objects in an active model using SketchUp's 'Select' tool
-
click
button or
choose 'Labels' command from Main Menu>>Plugins>>LSS Arch or
right-click at selected objects and choose 'Labels' command from SketchUp's context menu
- in opened 'Attach Labels' dialog select label template from a drop-down list
- (optional) edit selected label template
- (optional) select 'nesting level'
- (optional) specify label layer
- if you happy with label preview, then click 'Apply' button to attach labels to selected 'arch' objects
Use 'nesting level' option greater, than 0 in case if 'arch' object(s) are placed inside other groups or components.
The most typical situation when nesting level greater, than 0 is needed, is an opening object. This type of 'arch' object may exist inside some other certain
types of objects only (it can not exist independently in an active model). So the best way to attach labels to openings
is to select 'host' objects (such as walls, slabs and/or slopes) in an active model, then open 'Attach Labels' dialog and set
'nesting level' to 1.
It is possible to attach different labels to the same selected object and specify individual layer for each
different label, then make scenes with only one appropriate label layer visible. So it will be possible to
insert such scenes into LayOut and each scene will display labels appropriate for each particular
drawing only.
Manage existing label templates using command buttons on the left of a drop-down list with template name:
- click [-] to erase currently selected label template
- click [+] to create new label template
- click [...] to edit currently selected label template
- select other objects while 'Attach Labels' dialog is still opened, adjust label settings and click 'Apply' to attach labels to newly selected objects
- erase attached labels using 'Properties' dialog (click [x] button near label name to erase a label from selected object(s))
- use 'Settings' dialog to set default position and level of a label
- double-click to open a group, which represents an 'arch' object and move text label manually inside it if needed
