Properties dialog provides read/write access to 'arch' object's attributes (properties). Each typical 'arch' object is a group
in an active model, which has a set of attributes assigned to it. Attributes are the same as parameters,
which were specified during creation of an object using one of basic LSS Arch tools.
'Properties' dialog shows 'Reporting' attributes of selected 'arch' object(s) (read access). And it is possible to change geometrical
attributes and/or materials of selected 'arch' object after its creation in order to alter its geometry or surface materials
(write access). And what is more important Properties dialog allows to adjust parameters of any (reasonable) number of selected
'arch' objects at once in a batch manner. So it is possible to select for example about a hundred of column objects in an active model,
then specify a new height for all of selected column objects at once. Also note that 'Properties' dialog shows summary information
within 'Reporting' group of attributes, so it is possible to select for example all columns and slabs
and quickly learn what is the total volume of selected objects.
- select 'arch' object(s) using SketchUp's 'Select' tool
-
click
command button of 'LSS Arch' toolbar or choose 'Properties' command from
Main Menu>>Plugins>>LSS Arch or
right-click to pop-up a context menu and select 'Properties' command from 'LSS Arch' sub-menu
- view/edit properties of selected 'arch' object(s)
- (optional) click 'Apply' button in order for changes to take effect (in case if 'instant refresh' mode is turned off)
- (optional) select other 'arch' object(s) while 'Properties' dialog is still active to view/adjust properties of newly selected object(s)
First two steps can be swapped, i.e. it is possible to open 'Properties' dialog first, then select 'arch' objects in an active model.
Content of 'Properties' dialog refreshes each time after selection is changed.
- click
button to filter selection and leave only 'arch' objects selected
- click a button, which corresponds to a certain 'arch' object type, to filter selection and leave only 'arch' objects of this certain type
- click
button to select 'arch' objects, which are similar to already selected one, i.e. extend selection
(adjust 'similarity' options by clicking
toggle buttons)
- click
toggle button to enable/disable 'instant refresh' mode (when 'instant refresh' is turned on, each property change immediately takes effect on selected 'arch' object(s))
There is no need to pick precisely only 'arch' objects one-by-one. It is also possible to use selection rectangle for object's selection
while 'Properties' dialog is active. In case if some other objects were accidentally selected in addition to 'arch' objects,
it is possible to filter selection set by clicking

button or rectify selection even more by clicking a button,
which corresponds to a certain 'arch' object type in case if only this certain type of 'arch' object is needed to be selected.
